Russian Ad: ‘Smoking Kills More People Than Obama’

“Don’t be like Obama.”

An anti-smoking ad plastered around Russia is encouraging people to give up the bad habit and also is sending a strong message against the president of the United States.

Over an image of President Obama taking a drag on a cigarette, the text reads:

Smoking kills more people than Obama, although he kills lots and lots of people.

Don’t smoke, don’t be like Obama.

According to the BBC, a Russian MP and critic of the Kremlin, Dmitry Gudkov, posted the ad first on Facebook before it began appearing on public signs. This ad is only one of several recent ads to feature Obama: there was a pro-Kremlin banner hung near the U.S. embassy with the president’s face captioned with “killer” and a Russian supermarket chain sold a chopping board with him characterized as a chimpanzee, something the chain eventually apologized for. All of this highlights the rising tension between the country and the U.S.

The advertising department in Russia has vowed to remove all the anti-smoking ads in the coming week.

Legal Insurrection posted the following video of the report:
